What is RCIA?

The Church's invitations to explore the spiritual needs of her community, learn about the Catholic faith and enter her faithful community.

A process by which individuals are gradually initiated by stephs and stages into the Body of Christ, becoming fully active coscious participants in the prayer and life of the believing community.

It is the process by which adults become full-fledged Catholics through rites, ceremonies, and celebrations.  This is celebrated with special prayers and liturgical ceremony inthe presence of the worshiping community.

It focuses on Christian initation of Adults through the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

  • Becoming Catholic is coming into a community of believers.
  • The RCIA process taks place as a community.
  • The RCIA stages are celebrated in community with apropriate liturgical rites.
  • The RCIA experience follows the flow of the liturgical seasons through a lectionary based approach.
